Adult Learning Barbering students

Our Adult Learning Barbering groups are progressing so well and producing some fantastic work.  A regular supply of models helps the students to gain confidence and gain more experience.

Our students begin on level 1 which lasts approx 4-6 months and they then progress to level 2 and now we're arranging a date for level 3 to commence too.  Providing all three levels gives the students a fantastic progression route which also builds the esteem, confidence and their skills.

Adult Learning Hairdressing level 2 - Hair up

Study Programme Students - Create an Image unit :)

Our Study Programme students had a fab day on their Create an Image unit with some great ideas.

The students have worked so hard completing the images, see the following photos of their work-

The students pick a theme and then use the skills they have learnt during the course to complete their chosen look.  The students really enjoy this unit, there's always a lovely atmosphere in the salon with all of them waiting to see the finished projects :)

Jackson's Children's Cancer Run, May 2014

Marie Bennett, Training Support Officer at Trinity Solution would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has sponsored Jackson her son at the weekend for running the 1 mile Children's Cancer Run. 

The last count was £65 raised on his sheet and there's still a few more to total up!

Community Project - FACT April 2014

 

Here's some photos from our volunteering of treatments at pamper day for FACT

 

Always a great response and great feedback, our students work very professionally delivery first class treatments.

 

Treatments offered are pedicures, manicures, massages and hot stones massage too.  All treatments are greatly received and all clients seem to really enjoy them :)

Before & After Photos of ALD prmises at Unit 3 Gateshead

When Julie, Julia and Paula first created ALD Hair & Beauty Academy they were based at Team Valley Trading Estate.  After a few years the group numbers increased, more staff joined so more rooms were required to help the business grow.  They found Unit 3 Swan Street and after lots of planning and developing converted it into a fully functional salon and academy.

New Floors, walls and sections put in, sinks installed, etc, lots of hard work but worth it...

Community Project - Young Women's Project - Women on the Rise

The Young Women's Project ran a community night - Women on the Rise on Thursday 3rd April between 6-9pm.  A couple of our study programme students attended with our staff to offer treatments, offer course advice as well as generally being involved in all the activities carried out on the evening.

 

 

 

It was a great eveneing and proved a great success as our students were kept very busy providing hand care treatments, manicure, etc.

 

 

 

 

The evening hand workshops and performances including, sexual health, CSE, Drugs awareness, Am a bovvered? and there was many more.
